Catherine Merino Reisman, Esq.

Catherine is a leading attorney in the area of special education law. She has represented hundreds of clients nationally in administrative hearings as well as federal and state court. 

Catherine graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from New York University, was a Presidential Scholar, and a recipient of the Founders Day Award. She earned her J.D. from Yale Law School where she was a note editor of the Yale Law Journal, a founding member of Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, and a director of the Labor Law Project and Student-Funded Fellowships.

Upon graduation from law school, she was a clerk to the Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Prior to forming Reisman Carolla Gran & Zuba, she practiced employment law at a small firm for several years and then was “Of Counsel” to a regional mid-sized law firm, where she co-chaired the Special Education practice group in addition to handling appellate, commercial and employment litigation.

Catherine is admitted to practice in PA, NJ, and NY, as well as the United States Supreme Court, United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Ninth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the District of NJ, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of NY, District of CT, Southern District of Texas, and Western District of Michigan.

Catherine is a past Chair and a current member of the Board of Directors of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates ("COPAA"). Catherine is Co-Chair of COPAA's Amicus Committee. She speaks regularly to groups of parents and attorneys regarding special education, civil rights, and disability rights.
